WhatsApp cover photos reach iPhone beta with four privacy options

WhatsApp cover photos reach iPhone beta with four privacy options

Key points

  • WhatsApp is rolling out profile cover photos to some iPhone beta testers, after the feature first appeared on Android.
  • The wide banner sits at the top of a profile, above the profile picture, and can be a new photo, one from the phone library, or an image made with Meta AI.
  • Users can control who sees it from the privacy settings: Everyone, My contacts, My contacts except, or Nobody.

The rollout is gradual, so not every beta tester sees it yet, and WhatsApp has not announced a date for a wider release.
