The Labour MP for Warrington South, Sarah Hall, said she absolutely backed spending the money on the plan, recalling how fantastic London 2012 had been. A Reform UK deputy leader in Lancashire and a former Conservative council leader in Bolton also called the idea exciting and fabulous. The study will look at venues, transport, costs and legacy, and the idea was put forward by Northern Mayors with backing from former Olympians.
