Musk calls Virginia Governor Spanberger 'racist' over Cabinet photo

Key points

  • Elon Musk has called Virginia Governor Abigail Spanberger 'utterly racist and sexist regarding White men' after she posted a photo praising her cabinet as the most talented and most diverse in Virginia's history.
  • Critics noted that no white men appeared in the photograph, while her office said the picture was not her full cabinet, which does include white male secretaries.
  • The exchange sparked a fresh online row over diversity, representation and Musk's frequent interventions in US politics.
